Another Vote for No Bill Boards!

If it were mine, I would consider the hockey strip.

I'm quite surprised how many have brought up putting the hockey stick stripe on a car of this caliber. I can sometimes lean a little from "as built" but never with an option that wasn't available on the vehicle from production.

I tend to agree but I can point out the I've known of a 71 Cuda here in town it's still owned by the original owner, FE5, 440-6, 727, 4:10 Dana, Shaker.. He ordered it without stripes because he didn't like the billboards... Had the dealer install Hockey Sticks...

Dealer installed is no different than owner installed.

Just curious; why does FC7 show up twice on the fender tag?

The FC7 stacked on top of each other represents the body colour on the bottom number FC7 and the roof colour on the top number FC7, vinyl roof cars would have a V1X for Black or V1? the question mark represents what ever colour vinyl a car would have come with. As a Convertible would have V3? then either X for Black or W for White. :2thumbs:

Lots of different points of view on how to build these cars. I appreciate and respect people who build cars like Alan does. If I was getting that car restored to sell it, go by the tag because people who do not think like me will pay a lot of money for it. If I was keeping it, I would put the options/decals on it to make the exterior look the way I would have ordered it if I was old enough to buy one in 1970. Then I would replace the suspension and drivetrain with the newest most up to date pieces I could afford. Because that way it is a better car to me. Would I save the original pieces for eventual resell? Of course.

Thanks for the pictures Alan.

Two things, 1 it sure has more rust then it looks in the original pictures.  :screwy:

2. it looks like the driver door was replaced at some time.  Blue paint compared to purple on the passenger side.  :clueless:

Yes, Brian has been a friend for about 25 years.  I remember when I first saw that Cuda. It was still on the trailer as Brian had just returned home with it from the States. The car had been repainted red and not in great shape. At the time I thought Brian was a little  :screwy: to have paid $25,000 for it, as a few years earlier I had picked up my V code R/T/SE Challenger for $2,500 and a Hemi Charger for $12,000. Brian has always had a knack at picking up the right cars that would later become very collectible. In no time that Cuda became more valuable than my Hemi. He always bought cars based on their options and not their condition or price. Very knowledgeable guy when it comes to collectible Mopars.

Yea...I never got to see many of his cars when I was there, he's about 5 hours North of me. I did see his V code Charger when it was at Nigel's getting painted, very nice :2thumbs:

I'm glad I helped him find a buyer for this Cuda and that it's now getting a FULL ground up restoration.
