Bob Hope 1970 Challenger R/T convertible
« on: January 01, 2015 - 01:30:23 PM »
This car is being touted as probably given to Bob Hope for his advertising work with Chrysler. Anybody heard any stories about it? I see it was sold at BJ auction in 2001.

Looks like a pretty decent #2 car not needing a whole lot to become a #1.

I agree! My boss worked out a deal with them yesterday that I think is probably fair market value for a U code convertible of that condition.  If it does have someway of putting Bob Hope in the drivers seat that will just be the icing on the cake for future collectibility.

I'm glad Peter finally found a buyer for that car, they've had it for ever.... :2cents: LMC is getting pretty low on Mopars...

At the price they were advertising it for it makes sense.  It was on consignment, unfortunately sounds like the owner had to take a bit of a bath. :banghead:

Supposed to ship and arrive near the end of January. He has been selling quite a few cars lately and turning his collection over, this one seems like a good fit. Besides, how can you go wrong with a JS27 car?

Didn't a 70 red interior car come with red seat belts?
I thought that is what I have seen.

I thought that is what I have seen.

Black belts were standard, color matching belts were part of the deluxe seatbelt pkg... Also part of the pkg  dash mounted "seatbelt"  light, storage clips for the rear belts...

Do you know what the code is for the deluxe seatbelt package?

Seems odd that those belts are the only black thing on the interior.
