Rear Stabilizer Bar Frame Brackets
« on: January 01, 2015 - 04:23:37 PM »
The rear stabilizer bar ('70 Barracuda) is attached to each rear frame rail with a mounting bracket.  The bracket mounts with two bolts that go right through the frame rail.  Did the factory simply bolt these up without any reinforcement inside the frame to prevent it from crushing?  My car did not originally have a rear bar.

(4) FOUR self-tapping bolts on each bracket. NOT straight through bolts. :2cents:

Originals were a pointed tip. 8 needed.
Not reproduced to my knowledge.

The bolt's head is very similar to the bolts supplied with fuel/brake line hardware kits. :2cents:

I have the originals and they were a fine point on the end. Like a pinecone.

I don't recall that being like on the fuel/brake line hardware.

I was referring the the other end of the bolt where the wrench goes...the "head"of the bolt
