I do not believe it is legal to sell just the vin tag in most states.   :nono:

full vin is irrelevant.  If nobody wants it here...I sell at a swap meet or hang on the wall.

we all know that a car registration can be produced from scratch.  vin plates can be made, fender tags can be made, door stickers can be made, numbers can be stamped, titles can be produced.  supposing a vin is listed from a car that was scratched in the 70s, guy can run the numbers and then simply "produce" the car.

nice try.

Or you don't want to post the VIN so someone can buy it and rebuild the car without it being known that the VIN was sold separately.  Nice try.

I looked at this comment for 3 minutes...and still can't make sense of it.  I really don't care what the next guy does with it.  put it on a key chain, hang it in the garage, wear it on a hat, or make a lapel pin out of it.  you can get the numbers from the next guy when you see him wearing it around.

Thing is "You should care."  Post the whole VIN.  Lots of thieves would want to buy it not for "Memorabilia."  My offer is $3.00 + a stamp for postage so I can destroy it.

well, for $3...I would pop rivet it to my tool box.  but, crap...my tool box has wheels on it...and that would be a rebody right?

I guess if you guys don't want it...move on and let someone else get it.  If someone doesn't feel comfortable buying it...trade me out.

this is not an endorsement for a rebody.

do you have a use for the full number?  I have no use for your social security, phone or underwear size numbers, so I am not demanding that you post them...even if they were for sale.
