You doi need a set of the E body shfitrods to work , also the shifter mount is unique for the E body but Passion has them available either used or in billet which is Much stronger , basically any truck tranny works , there are some differences over the years , the early trannys had cast I ron cases , later all used alum , but the extemsion housing is always iron that I have seen , the shifter mounts need to be drilled & tapped on most extention housings btu some early ones were tapped , later models used a a weaker syncro with less splines although I have never seen one fail beacuase of this
