Harbor Freight Tumbler
« on: January 11, 2015 - 05:22:23 PM »
Just like the one pictured below.
I used a little Evaporust on hardware, nuts, bolts, etc. restorations with this.

Used.
Dirty but that doesn't stop it from working.

Green diamond rocks included.
Probably need to get new ones soon if you plan to use alot.

$18.00 plus shipping.

Does this damage bolt threads at all?

What have you used in it?

Anything other than bolts?

Josh

I did alot of parts in it.
Bolts come out perfect on the threads. No damage.
Triangles are plastic.

Look at the video below...

I put brackets, washers, nuts, nolts, clips, you name it!

After tumbling parts in it with Evaporust, laquer thinner them to remove any remaining moisture.

Then paint,
or RPM from ECS,
or phosphate coating kit from Eastwood.

How long do you run the tool until the bolts are cleaned?

Do you have to clean the oil and gunk off of the bolts before putting into the tool?

I'm curious so I'm kickin your tires.

Depends on the amount of rust and gunk on it.

Evaporust cleans as well as de rusts.
1-3 hours is average.

Where do you get the evaporust?

Harbor Freight sells it.
there's other brands out there as an alternative.

WD40 sells a version I think.
Rustaway is another brand.

Usually 20 -25 bucks a gallon.
Muratic acid works too but that's some nasty stuff to deal with.

If it's still available, I'll take it.
Let me know.
1970 Plymouth 'Cuda.  Matching numbers 440 U Code, 4 speed pistol grip, Rallye dash, AM 8 Track, Shaker hood, 15 inch rallye wheels, Dana 60 4.10, Super Track Pak.  One of 134 - 440 "U" coupes codes built in 1970 and one of 100 - 440 Super Track Paks built in 1970.

(Edited 8-1-17)

"usraptr" = United States raptor - bird of prey = United States Bald Eagle.  FYI, somebody else thought of it first so I had to drop the "O" in raptor.
