stroker with stock hp ex manifolds???

  Well, it's cold out and my shop heater can't keep up so I stay in the house dreaming.   
 I have a pile of 440 motors just laying around and started thinking.      Why not build a 512 stroker?  
 I've got a six pack setup and a set of stealth heads on the shelf doing nothing, along with a couple of sets of HP exhaust manifolds.
  Could these manifolds handle the flow?  Seems like a nice sleeper project

Yes & no , I always raise the exhaust port & widen it also when porting heads & then match the manifolds to the heads size , the manifolds will work but it will limit upper RPM power , I also recommend using a different cam grind as there is no scavenging with manifolds but you will still make a ton of torque & can get to 6000 rpm

I stroked my 383 to 496. With exhaust manifolds. Lightly ported stealth heads, not so big of a cam, with an lsa of 114, to match the manifolds, rpm intake and 750 hp holley, this made nearly 450 rwhp and 470 rwtq! Like I said, this is a mild build, haven't took it down  the track yet, but it should run in the high 11s
