Hey Guys and Gals
« on: January 15, 2015 - 09:48:26 PM »
Just thought I would introduce myself. I just bought a (restored not by my standards) 74 Rally Challenger from BC/Oregon and have a lot of stuff I want to do on it. It is a 79K mile original car that is in fantastic condition but it needs a perfectionists touch. :grinyes: Hopefully I can pick your brains on some of the stuff I want to do on it to make it what I want it to be, not that I don't love it the way it is now. Any I live in Iowa the home of rusty cars and bondo so you can see why I got the car from where it came from. Hope to learn a lot more about the Chally from you guy and gals, I'm sure I will enjoy it here.

Well if this works for me here's a pic of the car it's a 318 car but a correct year 360 J head was put in it. Right now the weather sucks here in eastern Iowa so I don't want to take it out and drive it... I shouldn't say I don't want to because I really do.  :hyper: I traded a guy my 1996 LT4 Vette for it so I had something I could play with and not feel guilty about modifying it. I want to build the engine up some so if anyone has a good setup they are running that has a lumpy streetable cam that doesn't require tearing the bottom end apart, give me some ideas please. I have a 727 and  8 3/4" posi rear in a 323 gear. I know I will have to change the torque converter to probably at least a 2500 stall to reap any kind of benefit from top end work. BTW the 360 was rebuilt before I got the car and only has maybe 2000 miles on it, problem is it was rebuilt 10 years ago and I can't find out if it is stock for sure but it is supposed to be. Thanks for the welcome everyone!
