I have a line on a center console for my 73.  is there any brackets needed underneath to attach through the carpet to the hump?

I'll assume you have a column shift now? If so yes there are brackets required along with various shifter parts etc...

Did you see this? http://www.cuda-challenger.com/cc/index.php?topic=104266.0   Pricey but gives you an idea what you will need as far as the shifter goes. They do repop the required console brackets but they do come up used often as 4-5 speed conversions are popular.

No I have a 4 speed no console, having trouble where to put stuff (as it flies off the seat), glasses, wallet, etc. haha.

There are two brackets that weld to the floor. Available from  AMD . You could possible bond them with some panel adhesive in case you didn't want to weld :2cents:
I've taught you everything you know.....but I haven't taught you everything I know !
