E Body 3" Spring Relocation Kit

Just curious who has used this kit and how you mounted/attached the rear shackle mount?
I have searched the web but can't really find any good pictures.

Moves leaf springs in 3" per side for added tire clearance. Kits mount longitudinally. Requires welding. Includes front hangers, shackles, rear shackle mounts and spring mounting seats.

If you move them in 3" per side, and need them in that far for the tires you plan to install, you will need to do some rear frame/tub work as well. I moved mine in 1.5" per side and have 315's installed in the rear. What are you trying to stuff in there?

19" x 13" Viper Rim, if i remember correctly the rear tire is 14.5" wide.

Well that won't fit in the factory wheel well. You will have more work than just moving the springs in. My 315's are 12.5" and there is not much room left. You will need to widen the wheel well a couple inches, and  most likely the rear frame rails will be in the way.

Yep, already know that. Too bad they used such a stupid rear frame design, even the leaf springs aren't parallel!
Just looking for pictures of the rear shackle mounts with this kit.

:not sure if this would apply,,,,,,but I put in a B body Dana ( shorter than a E body ),,,, and the 1.5" offset shackles.
I would call Cass at Dr Diff and see what he thinks,,,,,,very helpful,,,,,,

With Viper rims, I think it may be beneficial to go the opposite way, use a C body or late B wagon rear for the wider width to better match the high offset of the Viper wheel. It will still require some inner wheel well and potentially some frame surgery.

I have the diff, springs worked out.
Basically I'm using a stock 2002 Durango 9-1/4" diff with 3:55 gears and Sure grip.
Overall width with the 19 x 13 Viper rims/tires mounted is two inches less than the overall width of the wheel wheels (measured at the centerline of the rear wheel well).
It actually works out quite nice, I knew I had to tub it for the tire size I wanted.

Well that last post answered my concerns, viper wheels are 6 lug, but so are the durango diffs

Ya, Wish I would have researched it a bit more though.
The 2003 Durango's/Dakota's had disc brakes in the rear. The one I have is drums, I'll probably sell this one and grab a 2003 rear diff.
Looks pretty sad when you look through that huge rim and see a drum brake!

Nobody's installed this Kit???
Scored a 2003 Durango rear diff today, it was -23 out there today (-30/32 with the wind :eek2:). Thankfully we had a Makita cordless sawzall, that thing saved the day.
We had it out in 45 Mins. Second picture is the 2002 Diff.

OK, So I had a chance tonight to slide the 2003 diff into place.
Everything looks/fits just like I thought/measured, it fits nicely up inside the wheel well and is inside the fender by about an inch on each side.
I'll be able to get away with just a mini tub and a 3" spring relocation kit (might attempt to make my own)
I have a couple of questions hopefully I can get answered,
1) Is a Dana 60 pinion center of the axle? I'm using a 9-1/4 diff and the pinion is 2" to the right. stock 8-3/4 is 1" to the right.
2) Are the E body leaf springs straight or slightly curved outwards? the outside edge front of the stock springs is 48" and the back is 50". It kinda looks like my springs are curved.

Cant wait to do this  :burnout:
