Usually I can find something on the most hideous car build that I think is cool or liked the way something was done.  Not this one.  I hate everything about it.  I usually like Foose's designs, or a least a few things about them.  Not this one.  My wife was watching with me and never got past the wheels.  Foose's perspective on the 'Cuda is different than mine, but mine is probably different from yours!

Removing the bumperettes and leaf spring bump outs makes these car look too wide and skinny in the back.  Keeping these helps to "chunk" up the rear.  That's why I added 1" width to my bumper, to help the proportions.  Same goes with removing the markers and door handles.  These cars start to look to0 long and "skinny" in profile.  Those items help to "square" up the car and again, add a little chunk.  I've seen the drip rails and trim removed, and this just adds to the disproportions.  I like my car because it looks like a muscle car.  I'm fine with body mods that enhance the original design, but when it completely changes the look and proportions, I'm out.

With all that said, you guys will probably hate the new mods to my 'Cuda.  I have been working with Ben Hermance on renderings to try and stay with the "enhance" theme and maintain the original design elements, but I may end up on an island with Foose with everyone hating our cars....

"The rear valance cut outs are different, it must have been born a 383 single exhaust car or it would have the cut outs already"

The car is a Gran Coupe which didn't have exhaust cutouts. I have a 383 Gran Coupe and mine came with dual exhaust but the tailpipes end at a turn down before the rear valance. I also read someplace that cars made for California didn't have the cutouts either as it was an emission thing.

I thought the car was ok except the door handles, and I would have wanted factory exhaust tips. I wish the car would have received fuel injection and overdrive as well.

Chris Jacobs FB page is full of negative comments about the car.  Here is another one Foose ruined.  I'm not sure which is worse....

The big difference is the owner of the gold one above commissioned it to look that way. He got exactly what he wanted. The Overhauling guy got something other than he envisioned.

I think we missed something in the conversation that chip referenced during the purple shirt visit through the magic of TV and editing. Something was said that made chip change his mind on the build. Bill at RMS said to me that he was asked to overnight ship all the suspension parts to foose. Sounds like they didn't plan very well or something had them change directions.

We probably won't know unless the true owner (the guy) says something. IMHO

You are correct, Foose said that he changed his mind on the color when he saw the insiders (owners husband) purple shrit he was wearing, during his visit.

So Foose just looked at a guys shirt and said, hum. I'm going to make a change and paint the cuda purple?  :clueless:

Thank god he didn't see a tie-dye shirt.  :smilielol:

I looked at Chip Goose and Chris Jacobs facebook pages. Many negative comments on wheels and door handles. Personally I really dislike the car. But we watched an episode the other day, 63 Caddy Vert, now he really rocked that car. It was sweet.   :2thumbs:
