For sale is a 1971 340 engine block. This is for the block and main caps only, no rotating assembly, cylinder heads or valve train. I will include the windage tray. Lifter valley is painted with Glyptal to aid in oil drain back. The engine was running as recently as December of 2014. In October, it went 12.20 @ 110.8 in my Duster. There were no known catastrophic failures with this block - no spu...

Not one of those are T/A blocks. T/A blocks usually go for around $3500-$5000 for the bottom end, $1500-$2000 for the heads....

$11K in the EBay ad is a little on the high side :smokin:

I have to agree that 11k is on the high side. One does have to remember, there are very few available. If not in a hurry, just keep looking around. The blocks and heads do show up once in awhile, but expect to pay up to 3k for the heads. At this price, they need to have the rocker assemblies. A regular 340 block would get you up and running while waiting for the right motor you are looking for.  Good Luck.

Wonder how he can prove it came from a T/A ? Wonder what the VIN is ?

Barry can tell you if it was out of a T/A or AAR.

Wonder how he can prove it came from a T/A ? Wonder what the VIN is ?
The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realize it doesn't say anything it's to late to stop reading it.

Barry can make an assumption or he knows the VINs of every AAR/TA ever made ?

What I was under the impression was he has gathered enough data to completely know if the VIN would have been a T/A or AAR.  I don't think he's ever given the data to anyone, but he will tell someone if the VIN was a T/A or AAR.  Without Mopar coming out with the information there's not many other ways to know.  Would I pay more for a 4 speed out of a T/A or AAR?  Hel! no!  I have one out of a 4 speed AAR if anyone what's to pay more then it's worth.  IMO it's no different then a normal 4 speed out of any other 70 ebody.
