rear seat frame question
« on: January 25, 2015 - 01:15:45 PM »
I'm getting ready to recover my seats. I took the old cover off the rear seat back down to the seat springs. Along the top edge of the frame is a kink in the metal. Does anyone have a rear seat open so I can see if that kink should be there?

You had a kink in yours too? I can straighten it I'm just not sure if its should be there. The bend looks to good to have been done by accident.

Joe,

I am getting ready to recover my seats and they are bare frame. I don't see a kink like that on mine but I have a convertible so not sure of the difference on the top frame part, if any.

But I hope you take lots of pics and post a thread of recovering your seats.

I could see no reason why it was there so I straightened it out. There is some surface rust so I'm going to wire brush as much as I can and spray the frames with Rustoleum black.

That happens alot.  Someone tried to pull the seat out instead of lifting it off of the hooks.
