Pistol Grip Shifter / Tremec tranny. Bolt removal

I'm ready to install new carpet and need to remove the shifter. The shop that installed the tranny apparently used red locktite and over tightened the allen heads. I used a quality allen and they both rounded out.  So now I have to drill the heads.   Any one have an idea of how hard of metal these are ?

If they stripped that easy, I would say they are not that hard. Get yourself some good drill bits and start small.

A little heat from a propane torch will soften the locktite.

I must agree that heat will turn that loctite into lubricant just about

Apply heat and use an easy out = done.

Do not repeat the use of these bolts!!!
