Anyone else have trouble with Year One?
« on: February 01, 2015 - 09:31:05 AM »
Thursday I tried to order the 17" Ralleys through the link on the sponsor's page at $799 for the set.  When I followed the link to Year One, the price is $899.  So I called and the lady on the phone said this club was to blame for the lower price and would not honor the $799 price and that they don't sponsor the ads.

Today (Sunday), looking at the same link, same "sponsor", now has the $899 price.

Pretty stinky if you ask me.

I was confused by her response also.  I am not in the web advertising business but would have thought the sponsors would pay the club/site to run their banners and thereby are responsible for the content/offers.  I also thought a sponsor would give some benefit or preference to the club members but apparently I am mistaken, at least on this subject.  Not sure who Ken is but any insight would be interesting.

Not sure where the $799 price came from. I don't remember ever seeing a price listed on the banner ad.   :dunno: If the $799 is a result of taking the listed percentages off of retail, then that is what we were told they would honor. We are looking into it.....    :2thumbs:

Totaly unrelated but....
Year one is just of many US mail order companies I cant order from. I used to be a regular customer until the updated there computors and listed all of the Yukon having just Post Office box # and not addresses. I have a regular address and not a box # and even though I faxed my old invoices to them and bills from the local utilities and even trying getting stuff delivered at work no dice...the just say the system says box # and nobody can change or overide it.  :swear: :stomp: :banghead:
ps I hate computers,,rant over.

Year One has been out of stock on everything I've ever tried to order from them.

I got a card from them today saying they were still trying to fill my order and they would get it out as soon as possible.  The funny thing is I got it from them months ago.  Thought I would call them tomorrow and tell them so they don't send it again.   :dunno:

That's always been an issue. They bill you for an order of several things, then once they ship them, they inform you of the "back order", real pain in the butt for me because I drive an hour and a half to pick items up at the border  :pullinghair:

I ordered my windshield and rear glass through them a month ago and have heard nothing. I'm assuming they are on back order but was surpised I didn't get any communication from them saying so.

I only ordered through them because my wife gave me a gift certificate for Christmas. Also they fact that they have hassle free returns. So I thought that might be a plus since its glass that is getting shipped.

I thought I would post an update. I called year one 2 days ago and the glass was already in transit. It arrived today in perfect condition. It was in the worlds largest box with plenty of padding  :2thumbs:

Glad you got your glass without any further issues...

Wish my issue could be resolved with equal success.

I find it ironic that the offending advertisement banner which started this thread is just below my opening complaint.

Hilarious.
