Original 340 six pack intakes
« on: February 01, 2015 - 09:37:57 AM »
Hey Gang...

Trying to do some research on the 340 six pack since I recently acquired a TA. What is the difference in casting between an original 340 six pack intake and the new ones Edelbrock sells now. Is there a heat shield under it like the OEM 426 Hemi intakes? Also, can one get a new coolant by-pass hose adapter? I know new ones don't have it installed. I can image taking out the original out of an original would be a PITA...

Thanks..

The bypass fitting is available, no heat shield, it you want to keep the oil off the intake Milodon makes a baffle that also keeps the lifters in their bore should a pushrod come loose...   ////the original intake has a Chry # cast in under the carbs...
