Quick-Lift who has one?
« on: February 02, 2015 - 04:42:21 PM »
Anyone own a Quick-Lift by Ranger (Bend-Pac) ? I am considering buying one and wanted to know from someone who has one. Any complaints or would you buy again?

I cant comment on the exact make/model shown, but I believe that type of lift is great for those that have limited garage/workspace.  But this type of lift does tend to get in the way of certain work at times because of its design.  Sometimes you'll have to position the car a few times to clear the area where you need to access with tools, etc. Then you sacrifice space at times when you aren't using it by having to move/store it

If you can and have the space, I would get a two post lift. They go for about 1,500 nowadays:  I have used my two post to not only lift a car for work, but I have used it to pull motors, lift very heavy and large items out of the bed of trucks/load trucks, and as a motorcycle lift.

They make them now where you don't need allot of ceiling height to install one.  And you can park the car there when you aren't using it

Where are two post lifts for $1,500.00? I thought they were way more than that, like closer to $15,000.00? I didn't realize they were that cheap?!!??

I have seen the max jack 2 post hoist that is removable and was considering them but they are $2300 to 2600. And even need more storage space.

15000??

If that was the case, I wouldv'e never bought one

Here's just one example at 1600.   I have seen them cheaper on the 1400 side

Shop around:   Myself, I would get the 2 post lift.   I cant imagine being w/o one after having one in two different house garages

The are VERY easy to install

Yeah I see a bunch on ebay, I never realised they were so obtainable!! I fear my floor is  not strong enough to support the weight, as it is cracking. But definatly something to think about, thank you for info, and sorry to hijack the thread.

I've looked at lots of different lifts and even tho I have 10 ft ceiling in my shop a full height lift is only going to allow me to raise the car 40 inches or less, which means I either need to be a Hobbit or a hunchback to stand under it or only raise the car 20" or so to use a creeper to work under it.

I don't know if it is possible for you, but I raised the inside ceiling in my shop to put in a 4-post lift. I had a large attic space I used for storage, so I raised the ceiling in the middle bay and boxed it all in. I also made my door go into the attic space so it was not interfering with the lift. My ceiling height is now 12'6" in my middle bay.

I could raise it that way but then I wouldn't have anyplace to store all my oem cuda parts. Truth is I officially retire tomorrow and that sounds like WORK!  I am getting too damn old (and broken /beat up) to crawl around setting jack stands. That's the only reason I was looking at lifts.

Check out Directlift.com. I had one of their four post lifts and will be purchasing another, with 2 or 4 post from them, when my new shop is completed.
This lift is perfect for a hobbist wanting to work on old cars like our Mopars but if you plan to lift 4wd full size trucks then you would want something heaver.
Their 9K lb. 2-post is $1995 and their 8K lb.-4 post is $2495.

Cheers!
