Hello from Texas
« on: February 03, 2015 - 08:53:55 PM »
Hello all, My name is Danny. My dad gave me his 1970 Cuda that he bought new. He give it to me 19 years ago on my 16th birthday, but is finally letting me pick it up this weekend. Smart move by the old man, otherwise I would have probably trashed this car when I was 16. It is in need of total restoration, but I am looking forward to it. Will have plenty of questions for you guys in the near future.

Welcome to the site from  :canada: ! You've got both a smart AND generous father. My old man, when I was 16, gave me a 4 dr '58 Dodge Crusader- flat 6 & 3 on the tree. I'd say you were doing OK.

The only picture that I have at the moment is of the fender tag, but I promise after this weekend there will be plenty more.

Welcome to the site from Buffalo, NY.   I lived in different parts of TX for almost 17 years.   Lots of great people and not-so-great insects (like fire ants) are there.   I bought a book in a gift shop titled "Everything a Texan Needs to Know About the Other 49 States."   Every page in the book was blank.

I was always under the assumption that the louvers were a dealer add on and not a factory installed item. I guess I was wrong. From the tag, it shows louvers. Here is what I have so far.

Thanks for filling it in anlauto!! Thanks guys, can't wait to get it home this weekend. The original motor for it sits in my uncles '68 Charger. We have worked out a deal for it, so I can pick it up at anytime. The tranny is in my dads '68 Road Runner. I have another to replace it with, so thats not an issue. The next question I have, the heads to my motor are on my dads Dart. Are the heads number matched to the motor, or are they just matched by year? I can swap his heads out for the ones that are one my motor, but there isn't much sense in tearing down his motor for nothing, if the heads i have will work. But if they are number matched to the motor, then I will pull them, he doesn't mind.
