    Fuel Tank Sump for Fuel Injection?

    I just found out they are making DYI fuel tank sumps for diesel truck applications. Think this might work for an in line FI pump application?? I know not to do this in car to a used tank. But a new tank or thoroughly cleaned tank could be a good candidate. Voilà, no more in line pump fuel supply problems.

    Holley HydraMat is the way to go, just don't know the cost yet.  New product, supposed to be out shortly.  Check it out on their website.

    In a car application it wouldn't be an issue but in a truck it wouldn't be good if you were offroad and hit/bottomed out on a rock or something?  :scared:
    I agree the hydramat looks like a good deal . Less invasive ?

    I put in one of these to replace my noisy inline pump.  Has worked great.

    Wonder how long that hydra mat will last? 10 years? Will it break down and end up in your filter? Wonder what happens when gas gets a little old from sitting in the tank all winter?

     :wavingflag:Just received an email from Holley.  Looks like ARCA is using the hydromat in their race cars.  Don't know yet if other nascar divisions are as well but I am sure they will release more info as it becomes available.  Still no word on cost yet.

    Well, Holley screwed the pooch on the price, word is it will be $699.  Don't know if there will be a smaller one for a smaller price, but that is way too expensive!   :villagers:

    Not a flat mat but a few of these plus some tubing would be way less than $700.  Might be a bit tricky to get them in the 4 corners w/o an access.

    Holley's cost to make Hydramat.. Maybe $20=$40 per unit.... Add a fair profit, cost to WD $50-$90... Cost to retailer $85-$160... Realistic selling price $150-$275..... At $200 I'd squirm & say it's pricey but it works & I don't need to worry about it....  Done....   At $700 it's PFG (Pure Fxxxxxx Greed) & they won't sell many..... Give is 6 months & a Chinese Knock-off will be available....   If Holley priced it fairly most guys wouldn't even look at the Knock-off... But due to Holley's greed China is gonna sell a ton of these...

    Most people probably didn't know they had gone bankrupt a few times.
    For a couple hundred bucks, they could have sold MILLIONS of their mats. For $700.00 they will maybe sell a few hundred, maybe a couple thousand. If that much. Probably much less.

    Yes, I know - they are coming soon. But seem to be well made. And much cheaper, cleaner and easier than fabbing your own or the fuel mat option.
    Want them faster? Deluge them with e-mails wondering when they will be avaiable.
