Welcome Tall Hair, Short hair, bald spot here... Remembering when... Couple nice B bodies... I'm too am slowly putting a 68 Coronet R/T vert back together... Tell us about yours.. Color? Trans? Engine? Rally Dash?  Any paperwork?  I don't have many spares but if you need something someone here might be able to help...

The R/T is PP1 Red with a white bucket/buddy seat interior and auto on the column.  No Rallye dash just the standard early horizontal 150 speedo with the 2 and 3 digit mph markings vs the later 68 1 and 2 digit markings.  The SPD was 911 or Sep 11, 1967.  Matching number 440 Magnum and 727 Tranny.  I haven't had the back seat out to see if there's a build sheet but I don't have high hopes as the seats have been recovered many years ago.  The previous owner was from Indiana and he bought it in appox 1988 and I bought it in 2000.  So the two of us account for the past 27 years.  When he bought it it had been painted, seats recovered, and the rad had been replaced but otherwise it was pretty unmolested and complete.  Speedo show's 84K and I think that's probably the original mileage.  The paint is really tired and it needs a new top and interior.  I'm gather parts do redo the mechanical systems front to rear and plan to drive it as much as possible so no rotisseries or repaint in it's immediate future.

Welcome, I like your choice in music.  I saw Harry many times in the 70's, guess that shows my age.  Still listen to him all the time none better for telling a story in a song.

Thanks for the compliment and good for you in getting to see Harry live.  That is really cool, I would have absolutely loved to have had the chance.  He was a great story teller and made a lot of music before that unfortunate accident.

Oh and an interesting, to me anyway, thing about the RR is I bought in in '81 and I'm the 11th owner !!  Back in the about '89 I did a title search and got copies of all the titles.  I then used  the old telephone info service to locate the original owner and had a good long talk with him.  He had special ordered it and blew up the original 383 in the first year while in warranty and then took out the 3.91 geared S.G. and swapped it with a friend who wanted them and replaced them with 2.76's, then traded it in on a new Chevelle I think it was.  No build sheet in that one either although it still has it's original back seat.  Forgot to mention is a black vinyl top car with remote driver mirror (that was missing too) .. and yes the vinyl top is now gone as my Dad peeled it off to reduced the rust progression that had started while it was stored with him and I'm glad he did. 

When I bought the car it still had the large u-joint 2.76 open rear in it but not the warranty replacement engine.  The 833 is the original though.

Well You & I have something in common... My 68 Coronet R/T vert has a SPD of 9/11/67.... PP1 Red, Black Bucket Seats, Console, Floor Shirt 727, Rally Dash, 3.23 SG....  I bought mine from the original owner.. He bought it late in 67.. Beat the crap outta it... Blew the original engine, replaced by a 71 CHP 440.... Grenaded the original trans by doing a neutral drop at 5K, replaced with a Hemi 4 spd out of a 69 GTX, got the Dana too ... Street raced it a lot, claimed it was the fastest car in the Fremont/Hayward area back in the day... I'm quite sure it wasn't, he just never ran the right guy... It had Vega Bucket seats in it when I got it.. He'd either used an axe or a hand grenade to make the hole on the floor for the four speed...  Didn't have a proper trans mount so he used a roll of bailing wire.... The drive shaft cut a slot in the floor where it was trying to climb up into the passenger compartment.... Yeah, he was a sharp cookie... Anyway he parked it under a tree with the top down back in 78... Was gonna paint it so he & his brother DA'd all the paint off & rattle can primed it... And thats as far as it got... It sat with the top down from 78 till I found it... Oh, then theres this.. I found the car in early September of 2001, made the deal & was planning to bring it home on Tuesday the 11th.... When the attacks happened I called & told him we should do this another day... Nope wife wants it outta here... She's lived with that eyesore for over 20 years she wants it gone... So I loaded it up & dragged it home... Then I noticed the SPD...  It's slowly becoming a car again....

Well Hello again Bryan!! Small world.. At least the internet sure makes it seem that way...   Hope all is well.. Not a lot new on my project except after ten years I finally got all my trim back from the polisher... Untouched... So now it's at another shop & nearly done... Not quite as high end but at least he does something....  If I could just get my bumpers back from the highly recommended plater... I swear everyone that does any kind of metal finishing work is a PITA to deal with...

 I've been busy building a Ford station wagon to haul my dogs around in.. :roflsmiley:

I've been using that line since I replaced to floor... If you saw the mess you'd likely describe it the same way...

I mean the floor looks rusty, but really it had some pits but no holes... Other than where the bomb went off...  Considering the car set outside with the top down I was surprised how solid the floor was..  The frame rails were perfect...
