Purchase price of different engine options

This came up in discussion the other night. If you took three equally optioned cars, let's say 71 Challenger, what would the price difference be between a 340-4, a 440-4 and a Hemi?

that's about right my 70 440-6 cost me a tad under $4000 (not optioned that well) and my 70 hemi cuda convert was a tad over $6000 ( optioned very well infact it had crap I woun't have ordered)I was told it was $400 less than a decked out Cadillac in that year

If you had invested $892 in the S&P500 in 1971 it would be worth about $74,000.00 today.
................or  $4,265 (list Price) would be $352,440 better than twice the value of the HEMI car today.
