There was a tiny bit of surface rust I removed and sprayed with a rust converter just to play it safe. The undercoating was in really good shape and the car has barely any rust so I left it as is. Plan is to shoot the area with paint when I do the engine bay.

Welcome dave and good luck! I also have 73 challenger in the middle of full resto nor-cal also. I am in the middle of dash assembly wow!! what a job. Let me know
if I can help no expert but spent lots of time searching for parts and info. I will try and check more often then normal on this site. I spend most of my free
time working on the car. This car has lived up to its name a "True CHALLENGER".

Please post your numbers, my build is real similar to yours with a couple exceptions (496ci with .030 - I think). I would also love to hear it on the dyno and idle.
I'm going to guess 560hp just for giggles.

Can't wait to hear the numbers! :bananasmi I'm guessing 605HP :2thumbs:
1970 Plymouth 'Cuda.  Matching numbers 440 U Code, 4 speed pistol grip, Rallye dash, AM 8 Track, Shaker hood, 15 inch rallye wheels, Dana 60 4.10, Super Track Pak.  One of 134 - 440 "U" coupes codes built in 1970 and one of 100 - 440 Super Track Paks built in 1970.

(Edited 8-1-17)

"usraptr" = United States raptor - bird of prey = United States Bald Eagle.  FYI, somebody else thought of it first so I had to drop the "O" in raptor.

I went for it this weekend...was sick of the multi-colored green and didn't like the price quotes I was getting for a full paint job. Going for a solid driver and figured I'd give it a shot myself. Used SEM hot rod black single stage and SEM dtm primer. First time ever spraying anything with a gun, went pretty well. May have some tiger striping issues on the roof but we'll see how it levels out. I got 1 small run on the driver side drip rail but it'd dried decent and my t/a stripe will cover that up
