Just found a '10 SE on craigslist for $11K
« on: February 11, 2015 - 09:07:15 PM »
Never could afford one, so never even drove one when offered to drive one, cause I might just want one. Found this on Craigslist for $11k and bought it to drive as a daily driver for work. I get .43 cents a mile to drive to my locations so I'm ditching my great running 02 civic with 278,000 miles that got 35+ mpg and will be driving my 6cyl Challenger. I even took a road trip to the Detroit auto show the year the New Challenger was on display, before it went into production, just to see that beautiful car.  It will be easy payment of $155 a month but will probably pay it off within a year and a half. 2 Old Challengers in the garage, I hear that the new ones are nice and quiet when driving with the windows up.   I don't have it yet but should in a couple of days. Never, EVER found or saw one this cheap around here. He said callers were trying to lowball him for 10K. I told him I'll give him 11 so I don't lose it.

It was just as nice as in the ad. I drove it and made a deal with the guy and started the paperwork.

Here is a pic with my "old reliable" Honda Civic in the background.

This will be my work car. I usually don't do any upgrades. I'll probably strip off anything identifying it as a 6cyl then put a retro 4 tip exhaust on it.  Might have to sell something to park it inside.

you got a good buy for sure, here is a rough idea of current market conditions for a generic 2010 SE with 140K miles. you paid roughly what a dealer would have paid for the trade in or at a wholesale auction. (these are mostly wholesale values)

I did check values before I texted him. Book values are only good if there are a surplus of cars. I have never seen one this low and the guy is young with twins on the way. I jumped on it. When I found it, it was already on Craigslist for 11 days, I got lucky I guess.

unfortunately, PMs don't allow for pictures. I blacked out the VIN though for privacy

CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN!!! both owners seem to have taken good care of it. great buy!

Thanks for the CarFax Cole.

It looks like the 1st owner put on almost 96,000 miles in 3 years then sold it. Probably paid to rack up the miles like me, so wanted to drive something cool. Then my seller put on almost 50k in a 1-1/2 years. Probably mainly highway miles, the way I like it.  Makes it affordable to me and I'll be adding on the miles too.

So I got it home last Friday, but still waiting on the bank's lien release letter before I can title it. The old owner is letting me use his plates till he gets me the letter.

So now I have a couple of questions. How do I see a wiring diagram without buying a service manual?
1. My AC/Heat blower switch only works on high. Is there a resistor pack or another fuse for low and med speeds?
2. My ESP/BAS light sometimes comes on when driving. I did a google search and the solution is to turn the wheel lock to lock to reset it. If it stays on a wheel sensor is bad so take it to a dealer. Has anyone here fixed their own esp/bas light? I can measure sensor signals and can swap wheel sensors around. I just don't want to use a dealer till I have to. I've been playing with electronics since I could read a schematic. My low tire pressure light is on so this could probably be the solution but as you can see, the poor car has to sit outside while my good cars are inside. We just got our first winter snow today, 2 inches.   I'll troubleshoot and check tire pressures when the snow melts.
