I didn't know you were in Missouri?  I thought you were in California?  :clueless:

Born in Clayton, now live about 45 miles southwest of St. Louis. I love this area, maybe I don't know any better.

My first Challenger was black, I soon found out that the black was covering dark green which never would have been my choice. Black is perfect for this car.

Decided to add my retro Pentastar. Doesn't look right without it.

RIGHT side only, of course!

Waiting on my Ebay, "I get mine from Direct-Connection" license plate frame. I had one on the back of my '70 for 35 years. One is on my "71, so I ordered 2. one for the Cuda and one for the '10 Chally.
You have to be old like me to know about Direct Connection.

I also added my car-dvr video recorder, since this is my work car. Records while the cigarette lighter is powered on and continually erases the oldest recording. It uses a big suction cup mount, which I don't like visible. I made a mount that clamps around the rear view mirror stalk and mounted it high, in front of the rear view mirror, so I don't see it unless I flip the monitor down. I have them in 3 of my cars. Less than $20 on ebay. this is what captures all of those crazy crashes you see on youtube.

Would help in an insurance claim as long as you didn't cause the accident!

Dump the beater before it is worthless, get a challenger. It is so smooth and drives comfortably, that it changes the way I drive. I'm in no hurry to get anywhere anymore.

I did some blackening out of some of the bright stuff on this car. The kids call it "murdered out".  I used VHT spray tint on the side marker lights and popped off the gas cap and hood RAM emblem to paint it black.  The cap comes off very easily in you reach in above the rear tire, push the well liner out of the way, then push the 4 release tabs in around the ring. Can pop it off in less than a minute.

Painted cap and tinted rear marker.

At first I painted the whole thing, smudged the paint putting it back on, so I took it back off, wiped off all of the paint, then repainted with a black engine paint with ceramic particles.  I wiped off the top since I didn't like the paint seeping into the "FUEL" emblem. The little bit of chrome will match the wheels. I don't want to black everything out.

Tinted side markers and painted gas cap side view.

I haven't decided on the tail lights and grill headlight area yet. Spray tint or window tint film.
When I reinstalled my flip top cover, I put 4 daps of silicone sealer around the ring to keep it from rocking. it always seemed a little loose when I touched it.

Looks cool blacked out.  The completely blacked out fuel door looked cool, IMO.

I always hesitated blacking out/tinting the tail lights.  I always worried if I got rear ended they could claim they didn't see my tail lights due to the tint.  :2cents:

12-26-15, 173,446 miles.  My right front end was making loud noises when I went over railroad tracks and bumps. I found both upper ball joints bad and front strut lower control arm ball joints bad. I also replaced the bushings on the lower rear control arm that the strut bolts to and mounts to the frame, just because I was already in there and Moog has lifetime warranty bushings. I was able to have Oreilly Auto Parts match the prices with RockAuto's prices and pressed the bushings in with my $99 Harbor Freight press. Had the front end aligned today and all is good and solid again.
I didn't want the ball joints to pop off on the highway!
Only other things that went bad were 2 TPMS sensors, which I got on EBay for $10 each and changed out myself.

Not bad considering all that miles... The Challenger is on the road again with just a little money :burnout:

Bought it 2 years ago and today I'm just about 100 miles since this picture was taken yesterday, hitting 200,000 miles. It still looks good and drives great. The only other things I did was tint the side markers and make headlight covers.
I've kept the oil changed every 3-5K. Only parts that I've replaced were front end control arm bushings, trying to find a rattle, which ended up being a right upper ball joint, a TPMS sensor ($10 on Ebay), A Water pump when I changed the timing belt, an a single coil, which I could hear ticking through my AM radio. That's about it.  Remember growing up and a 100,000 mile car was just about dead?
