Digital Level
« on: February 12, 2015 - 11:13:34 AM »
Hey guys,

I'm installing a TKO600 in my 71.  I'm looking for a digital level to measure the trans and driveshaft angles.  Would the digital level below work?  Others online are really expensive and then I found this possibility.  What do you think?  It's purely a street driven car no racing.  If not do you have any reasonable recommendations?  Thanks

To avoid any problems it needs to be more accurate than +/- .5 degrees. That has a tolerance of +/- .1, so your gtg. Remember use the oil pan rail to set the angle for the trans, and the pinion snubber mounting pad for the axle. If your axle doesn't have one stick a joint in the pinion yoke and measure cap to cap. Don't forget you complimentary and supplementary rules and you should be gtg.

If you have a smart phone there are apps that work great.  I have an old Android phone and have used it successfully.

Not sure about the level but when I was looking for an angle meter I found an app (free) for my I Pad. Saved me money.   :2thumbs:

I have a TKO 600 also.  It is shimmed up 1 and half off the transmission support  bracket.  Did you have to shim yours up much and if so how much?
