for street use I would use the stock arms , 1 piece stamped steel with no welds to break

The stock arms weigh next to nothing. Tubulars might be heavier. Hopefully someone has weighed them both.

You ever had one in your hands?  The design is strong and not much weight to them.  some designs have a lighter ball joint n such, but if you just are enjoying your muscle car, then enjoy it for what it is.  There are many look at me parts out there that are just waiting for your wallet to open up.  Nothing wrong with updating your suspension for current tech.  But upper control arms is just one piece of the puzzle.

I'd say in your intended purposes you don't need anything other than the stock arms . Use the offset Moog bushings to max out your caster .

Unless you have some alignment issues, I'd keep the stock and use the offset bushings like Brad mentioned.... weight is negligible

Stock arms with offset bushings  should be all you need. However if you plan on lowering the car you might try Magnum forcce tubelur arms. You can lower the car at least 1 inch and still get good caster and camber adjustments. Of course that will lead to other mods like larger torsion bars to compensate for less travel and short bump stops.

The biggest advantage of the tubular uppers is the huge gains in positive caster that can be realized with them. Their actual weight difference is not a big difference and in some cases would be equal to the stock arms.

Weight loss on the nose is an expensive proposition anyway you slice it. For the arms you mention, you are talking about ounce differences for $300-500.  The same could be said of tubular lowers. You could swap to a Delphi steering box for a few pounds worth of loss at around $900+. You could swap in a tubular K frame for a few pounds loss at $600. Tubular sway bars may also net a few more pounds for around $300. Price per pound reduction in these are all pretty high. The best loss per pound cost is fiberglass panels. You can drop 30-40# for $500-700 with a hood replacement.

Anyone have any experience or opinions on the new repop upper control arms currently being sold by various vendors that have the bushings and ball joints already installed?

Are the ball joints and bushings quality parts?

It would be nice if they came with the offset Moog's already installed.
