Yes, key-in buzzer according to a 70 wiring diagram.

Hi, it's there so you don't forget your keys when leaving, when I bought my 70 Challenger, the former owner had it disconnected and nothing happened. When I painted and fixed the interior, I plugged it in and it had a buzzer sound whenever I had the key in the ignition and any of the two doors were open. Hope this helps...

No reproductions as far as I know.  Mine was disconnected too, ran just fine.

I was searching ebay and found one, http://www.ebay.com/itm/MOPAR-70-E-BODY-CUDA-CHALLENGER-HEMI-L72-CODE-KEY-HEADLIGHT-BUZZER-RELAY-2983872-/151562997993?pt=Vintage_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2349dbd0e9&vxp=mtr but he says he hasn't tested it. It's not a reproduction but a used item. You will find a lot of 71-73 relays which need some modifications to work properly...

Mine drives me nuts! I'm thinking of removing it.

Hi,

I think that's why many peeps are disconnecting it. Mine is also disconnected (at the end of the steering column) and I tried yesterday, it works, but also before I start the machine. You say here that's normal, also the manual, but it's really annoying if you just go in plug in the key (OK, only with open doors) and this buzzer starts. Would be better, just if you switched off the engine and you leave the car. But I will connect it, as it was designed like this. No more key in, when doors are open.  :worshippy
