What exactly is the problem?  Aligning my Challenger bumper was a PITA.  It was shifted over to one side too much.  Accessing the bolts after the bumper was on the car was tricky.  The factory must have had a fixture to get everything lined up perfect(for 70's standards) the first time.  Your 72 should be easier then my 73.  I had a huge inner bumper reinforcement to deal with too.

Just put mine on my 73 cuda, I installed the arms first, loose. Then the bumper and inner plate to the arms, snug.  Then positioned the bumper front to back side to side ( not a lot you can do side to side without shims or moving the bumper on the arms but not much room there either)until it measured right (get a second set of hands) and tightened the arms to the frame.

Admittedly I had practice when I was doing the body work mock up.

aliened it side to side, than center up and down. tighten the inner brackets and work toward the out side edges. this worked better than trying to get everything perfect all at once.
