Small Air Compressor Exploded....
« on: February 17, 2015 - 08:13:14 AM »
Just a wake up call for folks like us that have been using the same compressor for years. Even though you drain the water, they still rust from the inside out. I know watching this has made me want to go buy a replacement for my 25 year old compressor in my garage....

Wow! Scary. I got a small one in my garage, its not that old, but made in China, of recycled beer cans I assume... The best is to put them in another room, if possible, also makes the noise go away.

You'd think something else would "give" before the tank ?

The inside of the tank doesn't really look that rusty.  That's pretty scary.
Looks like the guy got cut up pretty bad.  His buddy kept him from hitting the floor when he's passing out.

Its often in the back of my mind. I sometimes wondered if you could coat the inside of a brand new compressor tank with one of those products designed to coat the inside of a gas tank in order to prevent it from rusting and eventually failing like this one did. :dunno:
Cheers!

Wow I wonder if the pressure regulator failed and it over filled?
