Decent cars running in those years go for 15K and up.   :2cents:

So are you saying it won't be possible to find even a solid, non-running base Challenger or Barracuda (70-71) for under 15k ?? I have been out of the game for a little while but I didn't think the prices were quite that crazy!

I think you can find something for 15K. If you are looking in the 8K range, you are going to get a car that needs major body work.

Look on E-Bay for any 70-71 E-Bodies in that price range and see what pops up.

You can probably find a california soutern body with a 318 for that price. It may also be easier for you since your on that side of the country anyway.  Do a craigslist search and you will see what I mean.  You are even apt to find a b body to. But yes,  mopars seem to be the new fools gold for some reason.

Spokane Craigslist has a 72 Challenger for $7000 if you don't mind that year. Looks solid. He has most of the parts. Good luck.

I like this one better and if I had the funds, I would be interested in this for a restoration project. Gator Grain Top, Burnt Orange/Burnt Orange  :2thumbs:

Thanks HP_Cuda, I will give that a try. I did find a car in Washington State that I was very interested in but he never had the car titled in his name. US Customs tells me that the car can't be exported to Canada that way. The seller (a very nice CC member), doesn't want to pay the tax to have it titled in his name because he would be taxed on their opinion of the value of the car (probably 3x the actual value). I know I could pay that extra but that extra money coupled with the fact that the Canuck dollar is in the toilet right now makes it unattainable. Has anybody else run in to this problem trying to bring a car to Canada?

I'm sure Alan could give you plenty of stories about bringing cars to Canada.

Mind telling us about the car in Washington?

Hmmmmmm. The car is owned by a CC member. The car is not currently listed for sale so I feel it is best to allow him to make the car known when he chooses to. Sorry HP.....it's not my place to talk about it.
