Red Interior
« on: February 22, 2015 - 05:20:56 PM »
How desirable is red interior? My 70 challenger RT, 383 4 speed car originally was FE5 with red interior. Right now the car has black interior with some of the original red pieces dyed or painted black before I got it. I see red was a '70 only interior but from pictures of other red interior cars I've seen, that's a lot of red! What has got me thinking about this is a few guys I know that are E body authorities (compared to me) get all excited saying "ooh, a red on red RT 4 speed, it HAS to be put back that way!"  I know I can do whatever I want with the car but I really lean towards the "it should be how it came from the factory" camp. Problem is I have no red interior parts for the car. Would it be worth the money and effort to change the interior back to red?

It makes it stand out in a crowd and now that new red panels are available, it's almost a no brainer :2cents:

Go red.  Get the new panels while they are available.

Finding used red parts is next to impossible.

I would absolutely 100% agree with Alan if you decide you want to do it you should buy the new red Door panels.. And you should do it soon before they become obsolete... Having Mike Ross @ BEA decide to shut down has made it very clear for those who hadn't already felt that way you need to grab these parts when you see them... Cause who know if they will continue to be available...

Thanks for the opinions. I think the black will stay for now while I look into getting some of the red stuff.
