Kounts kustoms TV show cluster purchase
« on: February 24, 2015 - 09:35:29 PM »
Anyone else see the a$$ rape that took place when the guys from kounts kustoms went to a scrap yard and paid $1900 for a beat up b-body instrument cluster? I am blown away at the balls the scrapyard guy has!

Yup I'm watching it right now. 2k for a roadrunner cluster, what is it actually worth?

Not sure of value, I wish they showed it closer to see if was even a tach cluster. I would think 2k for a  nicely restored unit

This disappoints. Don't be so thick as to think that anything real happens in Reality Television! I thought our kind was brighter than that.

I worked in the industry for a few years and don't be fooled.  Reality shows like politicians initially start out with good intentions but they get lost quickly with the money that's thrown at them.  Every "reality" show is scripted and made for ratings.  They wouldn't flow well if not.  If they weren't scripted then according to the TV industry there would be some pretty boring shows on the tube.  Some are interesting and goofy, I get a kick out of "Fast and Loud" but you have to take it for what it's worth, just entertainment and enjoy it for what it's worth.

I watched that episode on TubePlus online. I wish they would actually show them working on the cars. A few pics of rust here and there - then VOILA! DONE! With a bunch of useless filler inbetween.

It was mildly entertaining, though. I remember one episode where he had a Ford Galaxy or something all done and sold. They had a shot from the floor showing him drive it - and it didn't even have a headliner in it! lol.
Reminded me of a car show in Houston one time. They  had a KITT car there from Knight Rider. It was all roped off 20 foot away. No one was around, so I hopped the ropes. The entire dash was blow molded plastic with
decals on it. They had a General Lee roped of the same, hopped the ropes to look - and every interior panel was a different color. I was really disappointed!

You want to watch hours of nothing but someone sanding and grinding, then after watching for several months its still not done ? :D

Gotta admit, before I put $2k down on an old gauge cluster that may not work....I'd put in a custom gauge setup lol.
Cuda is gone :(
