These cops are among the dumbest cops ever.  A whole string of errors and bad decisions involved here. They should all get plenty of time off without pay or fired. Poor fella and his wife with crutches were treated terribly - for no reason.   :swear:

And people wonder why there is such distrust for law enforcement....  :walkaway:
I'd "like" to think most officers are a little smarter and would conduct themselves with a little more courtesy than that.  :-\
I hope they win the lawsuit!

That article alludes to the fact that the driver had a record. Hence coupled with many LEO mistakes landed this guy in jail.

Unbelievable.

I reckon they'll be financially comfortable from now on! But yeah WTF!!!!!  My girl and I were harrassed by boarder patrol in the late 90's becuase they didn't think I should be driving such a nice car at a young age!!! It was a 1990 Eagle Talon, I was 19, had a job, appartment etc. Jerks watch too much tv!!

I didn't read or hear ANYWHERE in that article about the "fact" that the driver had a record.  I don't think he had any kind of record.

Freakin retarded !!
Years ago we were young & the cops were older & wise & things overall were cool .
Now we are older & the cops are kids , not sure why too much TV or video games but they cannot think for themselves & everything escalates so fast .... maybe try running the plate 2x before you pull your guns

The Gestapo in Nazi Germany couldn't have done it any better. All this, over a mistaken case of car theft? Were those poor people armed or trying to run? No wonder people are coming to hate the cops, when they totally overreact and abuse their authority like this. I hope those folks sue the ba$tards for everything they've got- and win.  :nono:

Did the popo think that this was a remake of The Day Of The Jackal ?
Did they think that they were going to be attacked by a crutch gun?
Seriously, they saw the guy was unarmed, saw the woman was on crutches, talked it over amongst themselves - and decided right then and there, to GO RETARD! GO FULL RETARD! NO TURNING BACK!
That was crazy! Some people have absolutely NO common sense anymore.

Hope they win the lawsuit and "cripple" the NHP. Boneheaded stuff.
