Latest Mopar Muscle Magazine
« on: March 01, 2015 - 05:05:17 AM »
Has an article on 30 new Mopar products from SEMA.
There's some good ones!
72 Cuda, owned 25 years. 496, with ported Stage VI heads, .625 in solid roller, 254/258 at .050, 3500 stall, 3.91 rear. 850 Holley DP, Reverse manual valve body.

1999 Trans Am, LS1, heads, cam, headers, stall, etc! Love to surprise the rice rockets with this one. They seem so confident, then it's "what the heck just happened?"

I'm not familiar with Brower and couldn't find an example online (unless you meant Bowler and their newly acquired TKO line)?  my understanding is that most aftermarket 5 speeds have fitment issues with the Cuda/Chally tunnel (the exception being the Passon 5spd that is based on the A833 ... which has a waiting list longer than Santas Christmas list)

Boy, I must have been asleep this morning, I meant the Passon overdrive piece. Brower sells Mopar 4speed parts and install kits for 833's

The biggest issue I see with the McLeod trans is the fixed mount shifter box for the rail shifter. In a GM unit, those are all in the same spot on the tailshaft. On a Mopar, it could be mid mount like a B body or tail mount like an E body. We also have two overall lengths for A/F and B/E bodies. So, McLeod has to come of with three distinct configurations to cover Mopars where they can cover the majority of GM with a single configuration.

maybe it's good news (for us e-body folks anyways) that the owner put one into his own Cuda (I'm hoping this means they already have the e-bodies covered)

Someone pointed out on the MOPATRS website, that you can't use you original shifter - if this helps.

Also, the TCI 6 speed auto can't be used with factory shifter. Something to think about.

I thought that TCI 6 speed was SO cool! $8000.00! YIKES! You have GOT to be kidding me! How can that be possible? You can buy a suopercharger for less. GV overdrive is only around
$2500, $3 at most.  lol. TCI missed the boat, they could have priced these at $2,000.00 to $3000.00 and sold TEN times a HUNDRED times what they will sell them at $8,000.
These company's are all "effwed up in the head, these days.  'nuf said.

I don't see why you couldn't use an original shift handle on them. The bottom of my Hurst has two through bolts to attach it to the shift gates, just like the stub on the McLeod has two bolt holes and a flat face. You obviously can't use the entire shifter assembly since it is a rail transmission.

But, until they start selling them, it all just mental gymnastics.

About the MM magazine... I wish they would stop including ads which show GM or Ford cars, etc... its MOPAR or NO CAR!   Even Mopar Action does this occasionally, but Mopar Muscle has been the worst culprit.... enough to encourage me to cancel my subscription if it ever came to eliminating one of the mags.   I truly enjoy reading all the Mopar magzns... a form of relaxing stress relief with each issue (but dissappointing when I see anything other than Mopar pictured within them).
Autocross/road racers go in deeper... and come out harder!

See  MOPAR ACTION MAGAZINE, AUGUST 2006 ISSUE for featured article and details on my autocross T/A.

That's what their iterature/web site says. I'm sure you could fab something up.

My last issue seems to be all Mopar cars shown in all the vendor ads.
