This is me at 2 and already a "car guy" My dad bought a 65 Barracuda 273 4v 4 speed right after I was born. The solid lifter 273 was the first car engine I can remember the sound of. In the back ground is my uncles 65 Valiant also 273 4 speed.

There are no pictures to document the demise of the AAR. It was not like things today where every one has a phone with a camera. The old 126 camera had to have the film developed and it was a real p.i.a. to just snap a bunch of pictures and then go get them developed not to mention expensive for a kid with no job.

Even the picture of me in the cuda was never developed when my dad was alive. The roll of negative was found in a drawer and we sent them in for developing a few years after my dad's death. He isn't in any of the pictures just my mom, brother, and I with the Cuda. They were a surprise to all of us when we saw them.

We had another Cuda in the yard with the AAR it was a 70 Gran Coupe convertible that I haven't mentioned because I personally cut that car up and scrapped the hulk myself. The numbers were on the pieces and the title went with it.

I understand the skepticism and if asked will provide a name and phone number for Barry to "check out"

Other then not listing a price, he's being pretty straight forward about it. Depending on how realistic his asking price is, this could be a good deal for somebody looking to rebody a pretty cool and rare Mopar.

As much as it may be illegal in 90% of the world, and we don't like to see it happen.....It does happen and has been happening for decades....

For years we've seen cars at auction being listed as re-bodies and selling for $100's of thousands of dollars still....there is a market for these types of cars.

I commend you, you've made the entire VIN public, anybody buying a FM3 AAR 4spd in the future, a simple Google search will provide the owner with the history of the car and he can make his decision....I'm 100% certain people would still buy it and enjoy the privilege of owning a rare car, or at least the numbers off of one :grinyes:

The add has been pulled from Craigslist let's see where it turns up next.

I am not saying the guy is trying to rip anyone off. I believe selling the title and vin tags is illegal in Pa. and a lot of other states.

There is a legal "rebody" process in Oklahoma which is often used when using the new Dynacorn bodies because they are licensed. An original same year, make, model body is also permitted to be used under this law.

That is pretty funny that one of the places you can legally rebodied a car is one of the places that bodies seldom rot yo the point they need a new body.
Maybe they are trying to generate employment opportunities .

Well Classic Recreations that builds the licensed Shelby clones is located there. I imagine they gave the legislator a bribe.... I mean contribution to introduce the new law.  Unique Industries in Texas was doing the exact same thing but they didn't grease enough palms so they were hung out to dry and made to look like crooks.

No, I don't think I'm being harsh.... The guy shows up today, his first post is an ad pedaling the makings of a rebody.... His second is further pushing the rebody kit....  His third was pulling this post back out for the first time since April of 2015....

He's brought nothing of value, nothing to establish he has anything to offer beyond selling a rebody kit that in most states is a crime....
