Other than a few cars that sold at the auctions, it is hard to gage the market for these cars!
The only other one currently for sale I am aware of is a FC7 shaker one in my area. Was restored from a former race car, the guy who owned it is a friend of mine, and had to sell it before he was completely finished with the job. Engine hadn't been started. 6 or 7 years later, the new owner has decided to sell it, still hasn't completed it, the engine still hasn't been started! And he's asking around 150K.
So mine might be the only running V code '71 Challenger on the market right now, it can be had for around half what the asking price on that other one is, you can turn the key and it will fire right up and you can take it for a spin!
I drove it to a number of shows and cruises last year, furthest being over 60 miles from my home. Other than the high rpms on the highway due to the 4:10 rear, it was a fun drive, and I swear I got 14 or 15 mpg too!
Brought home a trophy, I've brought home trophies from just about every show I've entered it in.
But I've advertised it off and on for over a year, and only had one guy interested last summer. He decided he wanted a '70 more, so passed on it. Other than that, just a few brokers and a few guys wanted to say nice car. So maybe no market for 71's?
