'71 Barracuda - WIW
« on: March 07, 2015 - 12:30:14 AM »
What do you think this one is worth?  There are obvious flaws (exhaust tips and rear valance, dash has covers over vents, Cragar wheels), but some cool things too like a 5 speed with a 440.

$25K

 :o  really?
First think that made me wrinkle my nose was the armour plate rad to shroud thing they have going on? Shame the valance was cut up for the exhaust. Console etc.... but I'd expect to pay 25K just for a good " body in white " for a 71 Cuda? No?  :dunno:
Was it just me or did the engine rev up really slow? or am I just used to a 451" ?

Normally I tend to agree with alan on these WIW situations, but I think this car goes for about 10k more, I see they are asking almost 40k, I would bet they get 35k for it all day.  I know it's not correct, and there are a few weird changed the PO made, but it's still a really clean 71, with a big block and a manual.  If 25k could buy a 71 like this, I'd buy one in a hearbeat

BH23G1B403426, were the front valances different on a Cuda and Barracuda in '71?  I am finding pics of the "slotted" type and the "one hole" type.

Not sure on the value, but the front lower valance IS NOT a 71. All 71's had the front park lights built in, similar to the Challengers. Looks like aftermarket park lights, mounted where the road lights should be.

How big a deal is it that it is missing the emergency brake?

I thought I saw that to, but as the car turned it seemed to blend   :dunno:  Maybe the lighting  ?  I was REALLY impressed with the cup holder though. Wonder if that option is on the fender tag   :smilielol: :roflsmiley:

YES...there's just so much wrong with this car I can't imagine it selling for $35K as other estimate :22yikes:

Cup holder in the console and the block offs for the AC vents, wow this thing is kinda butchered.

What is going on with that exhaust tip setup too?

always draws me in when I see a car that resembles mine!
Cant tell much from the video. Whats it look like underneath? Its obviously somewhat custom, but how far did they go with it?
I would think they will get over $30 for it, but $40 isnt happening IMO, or anywhere close unless it is immaculate and nicer than I can tell from the video.
