setting the door gap on a rotisserie?
« on: March 07, 2015 - 06:06:12 PM »
I installed a set of amd full quarters on my challenger and I pulled it off the rotisserie to do so. I have it back up on the rotisserie and I need to set the front of the quarter to the back of the door gap. The front of the quarter needs to be slit and rewelded to fit. Is it a bad idea to try and set it on the rotisserie? Should I drop it back down to do it?

I would. The best way to duplicate real world fit is to put the car back on it's wheels and go from there; but that's just my  :2cents:

Every time something needs alignment, it would be better if the car is on its wheels. The members here taught me that.

Read my answer in context to your last question- "should I drop it back down to do it" and then re-read the rest of my comment and maybe it'll make more sense to you.

with the rotisserie hooked to the bumper mounts.I installed front of the car and aligned gaps. All was well until engine and trany k frame install. My front fenders opened up at the bottom about 1/4 inch away from door. Readjusted afterward by pulling bottom of the front fenders to match door gap, then retightening bottom fender bolts.
