Inner Fender Splash Shields
« on: March 14, 2015 - 01:47:01 PM »
Greetings Gents,  just a quick question on a 1973 'Cuda.  I have acquired some repro inner front fender splash shields.  These are the heavy rubber "flaps" that cover the holes in the lower front fender behind the shock tower, just above the frame rail.  My question is are they attached from the wheel wheel well area or from the engine bay area?   It appears that it should be mounted from inside the fender well as that area is flat and receives the shield better than the inside.   PO removed them so I want to make sure.

Thanks.

Both....

The driver's side mounts on the wheel side of the inner apron and the passenger side mounts on the engine side of the inner apron :2cents:

Thanks Alan,  I would have never guessed that one side was reversed.    Have a good one.

Does anyone have any pictures illustrating of how they are mounted?

Aren't both sides mounted from the wheel side?

Here you go, this is of my 73 Cuda, showing right side on the inside fitted, and left side in wheel side, I had removed it but you can see where it was

Maybe the installer was standing on the left side of the car as it went down the line... :smilielol:
