1971 'cuda for sale

I offered to bring him 25k cash for her. The owner said no. With all the comments posted here to not budge on price, he turned me down and said 25 without tremic 5 speed or dana. I'm kind of glad he did. The more I look I'm thinking lower to mid 20's maybe. I think with rust the issues, interior paint etc  who knows what else.I'm not a body man so I would have to pour so dough in her. If your able to do all the bodywork yourself than this is ok for 25 or so but the more I looked she's not for me. But I'm sure she'll be gone soon.

On a $29,500 ask and he turn down a serious $25K offer.....he certainly doesn't "need" to sell it....I would have really considered $25K or countered with $27K

I know Alan. He said there is a lot of interest. But like you said that's not the same as me coming over from NY to Pa. with cash in hand. I think I'm going to take the one I wrote you about in Canada for the price I was quoted. She's original tx9 color, original 833. Fully restored 2 years ago and never really driven. Only drawback is the 340's gone but hey the 440/6 might be fun. If I was to even buy this car and make her the tx9 car I'd be a poor man. I''ll keep you posted on when I get the black beauty!

I think if the seller could define a little " has some rust " quote, and provide some belly pics it may help ease some potential buyer fears.

This is a Ebay buyer beware deal for sure. The bubbling paint around the doors and admission of rust issues is a give away. This is the reason I buy a lesser car and fix everything myself and not relying on other peoples word or craftsmanship. If it does have the value he asks it will only be if someone will pay it. I must admit it looks like a great starting point but much lower than his asking price. $15,000 at the most.

I'm far from an expert but this is the first time I've noticed the fender tag stamped "in" I'm used to seeing them with raised letters/numbers?    Lots of work to do with this one.... I know is a 71 but..... what doesn't it need?

Hey folks this car is an original, complete 71 'cuda driver and therefore it is not priced like a 72 challenger as some are expecting.  If you know anything about these east coast cars, you know what to expect with a restoration of this kind.  I was diligent to post picture of known rust areas.  And remember, the floor pans have all been recently replaced (front and rear).  If anyone wants more pictures, I will be glad to provide them for serious buyers.  Or better yet, come see it first hand.  I haven't bitten anyone lately.  If you are interested in the car for a reasonable offer against the list price I will consider it.  If you are looking to save some money, I would also consider offers with the tremec and/or dana and/or engine removed.  I have other drive train components available that I could offer you and that you could install yourself. 

Regarding the fender tag, I noticed that the codes look recessed as well.  This must be a camera (iphone) thing.  I can assure you they are real tags (and not actually inverted).

I am not saying it is not a nice car but it needs some work and the trunk is showing signs of thinned out rusty metal around the wheel wells. Your VIN number denotes a 383 hi-perf engine but you have a 440 with a tremec. This is what is going to hold up an original claim on the car and the price. What you should be advertising it at is a restomod candidate ready for some touching up. Haggerty's has it at $27,900 with the original 383 in fair condition. A good condition is around $37,100. That is for original. I think it is a great project but $29,000 is way too much. But I would play up the 1971 factor and you might just sell it for what you want. I still like the car and if I was not knee deep in another car right now I would make you an offer. Good luck!

That is always the problem on boards like this that allow comments in forsale ads.
People make statements from home and the seller thinks he's sitting on gold and lets real buyers walk.
I always prefer boards that the forsale ads are just that an ad not a discussion.
