Bruce, I am looking for around 850-870 on pump gas N/A.   The limiting factors for a super quick 1/4 mile time will be the rear gear and torque converter. A trans brake would also help it lay down a number. I am running a 4:10 rear gear and a 3800 converter. Not the best set up for the 60' times it needs to run the real quick numbers that is could with more track oriented gears/converter. I am looking at mid 9's around 140-145 mph.  Not bad for a N/A pump gas car.....    :2thumbs:

He won't come up to Carlisle because he knows a certain orange Camaro will be waiting for him and South Mountain.....

Hey Fish, you remember me telling you about three Cuda's sitting in a guys yard, down the street from me? Well after maybe more than 18 years, they are gone. Two of them were close to your body style and one looked to be a 70. don't know if someone complained and he had to get rid of them, but they are gone.

I know better than to come 900 miles just to get embarrassed by the Orange Bowtie.....    :grinyes:  You can go beat up on someone else that lives closer to you than I do....    :burnout:  I think Jason form here has a BB Dart that lives up your way....

I wonder where the old Mopars went to? I hope they found good homes somewhere...

I made some more progress this weekend. I got the heads off, the wheelie bars off, and got it loaded in the trailer and delivered to our shop to finish pulling the rest of the engine.

What the?! Say it isn't so Ken! The Beast is a pretty stout steed!
The Camaro can't be packing that many more ponies ... unless it's on the juice or something?
Cheers!

You would be surprised what the Camaro is packing.....and yes it does have some juice as well....

Fact is Fish and I like to have fun, his car right now would take me, even without the heads on his car...  but my new motor might be a different story. Let's just say, the group I run with goes low 8's and they are going to be dipping into the 7's, in the quarter mile, so I hate being the odd ball.

How much does one of those completed engine weigh?

Do they make any components out of aluminum?

I think mine weighs about 750 carbs to oil pan. Maybe slightly less with the aluminum heads, but the crossram is heavier than the factory street Hemi's aluminum intakes.  They don't call it the "Elephant Motor" for nothing...   :grinno:

And yes, you can buy all aluminum Hemi engines if you have deep enough pockets.....    :money:

Just by looking at the size of those motors, you'd think they would weigh more just like an elephant!

A cast headed big block weighs about the same amount.
