coat hook position
« on: March 21, 2015 - 03:13:41 PM »
When I bought my 70 aar the coat hooks were in the glovebox after they had put on a new headliner I guess-not sure. I am wrapping up the very last few items on it and would like to re-attach them, but I don't want to damage the headliner and I do not know exactly where they go. Does anyone have a measurement of how far back or forward from a common point they are and how high they are off the moulding?
Thanks
Bob J

not sure of exact position but feel around the general area pressing lightly on the headliner for a screw head. Any good upholstery shop knows to leave the screws in so they can be found.

Actually on a 70 Cuda the coat hooks go through the rear sail panels. If those were replaced with reproductions you might be SOL as far as finding the original holes. :2cents:

Thanks

Yes, if the sail panels are original or at least recovered originals, you should be able to find the hole. Personally, if that's not the case....I would just drill new holes in that general area :2cents:
