So here is the story from my prospective and from past experience,,,
Dodge and Haveland motor oil wanted to do a promotional giveaway car,(it could be the other way around) Richard was the perfect candidate to build the car because of his connection with Dodge and Gas Monkey garage. What a great promotional tool his show will be for this car.
He did already have a early build of the Scat Pack Challenger from back in September that he showed off during the gumball rally

The question is does anyone know who restored the 71 Challenger? this is the only info I have found on it so far... surprisingly it was a real 340 car but not an R/T

The 71 could be put back to stock if someone would want to with a new floor pan and a couple of patch holes on the inner fender. Im guessing Dodge will be doing some tuning on the ECU before the giveaway.
Aaron sure didn't do enough research before he started the swap because he sure had his hands full. the starter on the drivers side could have been solved with a small block bell instead of the hemi bell allowing the headers to drop in place or he could have used the late model headers if he wanted the starter on the passenger side. The 12 volt constant wire and start wire are there it just not in the column like a gm.
Overall its a neat ride but its not 150K nice and yes the wheels are way UGLY
The build isn't that hard lots of people have done gen 3 hemi swaps much cleaner than the gas monkey crew.
