I didn't care for the wheels either.  I sure would like to know how they supported the trans tunnel after cutting it out to fit the trans that barely fit?

I'm gonna call B.S. on the $150k selling price. This is a completely scripted pile of garbage. Nobody is going to overpay by $50k for any car let alone this cobbled up p.o.s. They could've bought a new Viper or even a Z06 Corvette, had a way better running and handling car and put an extra 40-50k somewhere else.

I actually like the show I just don't buy the story.

It looked to be a custom transmission support bracket that attached to the remaining cross member sides.

And I agree 4406v - $150k was way high, and the guy that bought "represented" a company that he would not say who it was but only that they were using the car as a giveaway prize.   :roflsmiley:

I agree and tried to see how they did the new support and of course it was blacked out so your guess is as good as mine.

FAST AND POUND!!!

I think its interesting to see surface rust all over the pedal assembly in some pictures, and black in the last picture
Richard probably doubled its value right there with 20 cents of rattle can paint.

:chatting:I do like the show for entertainment only. But this one was entirely scripted bs.
Dodge "promotion" had to pay for it all.

X3 on wheels being horrible
happy body was not bastardized. Were they really going to graft a shaker onto bubble hood?

All the hype and only thing only 2015 item used was engine swap.

So here is the story from my prospective and from past experience,,,  :2cents:

Dodge and Haveland motor oil wanted to do a promotional giveaway car,(it could be the other way around) Richard was the perfect candidate to build the car because of his connection with Dodge and Gas Monkey garage. What a great promotional tool his show will be for this car.

He did already have a early build of the Scat Pack Challenger from back in September that he showed off during the gumball rally  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FNQk0Pk2HLk
Same car minus the stickers notice the electric cutouts and side exit pipes. So the car was going to be scrapped as stated in the show.

The question is does anyone know who restored the 71 Challenger? this is the only info I have found on it so far... surprisingly it was a real 340 car but not an R/T  :money:

Lot # 057 1971 Dodge Challenger R/T 2-Dr. Hardtop; S/N JH23H1B304695; Green Go, Black vinyl roof, Matte Black hood/Black vinyl; Estimate $35,000 – $50,000; Enthusiast restoration, 3 condition; Hammered Sold at $42,000 plus commission of 10.00%; Final Price $46,200 – 340/275hp, 4-speed, JVC CD stereo, console, pistol grip shifter, A/C, wing, rally style wheels with trim rings, Wingfoot HP tires. – Good paint, scuffed stainless trim, sound interior. Door windows rattle...

The 71 could be put back to stock if someone would want to with a new floor pan and a couple of patch holes on the inner fender. Im guessing Dodge will be doing some tuning on the ECU before the giveaway.

Aaron sure didn't do enough research before he started the swap because he sure had his hands full. the starter on the drivers side could have been solved with a small block bell instead of the hemi bell allowing the headers to drop in place or he could have used the late model headers if he wanted the starter on the passenger side. The 12 volt constant wire and start wire are there it just not in the column  like a gm.

Overall its a neat ride but its not 150K nice and yes the wheels are way UGLY  :puke:

The build isn't that hard lots of people have done gen 3 hemi swaps much cleaner than the gas monkey crew.  :burnout:

Well....That's what I think anyway...
