WTB: 70 Challenger T/A or Cuda AAR or 68-70 Charger
« on: March 23, 2015 - 11:50:22 AM »
Hey everyone. I'm looking for an all numbers matching T/A or AAR or a 68-70 all numbers matching Charger. Originality would be great. All original sheet metal is a must. In other words, it has to be a very very nice car. I prefer a 4 spd but I would possibly consider an auto tranny if the car is extremely nice. If there is anyone out there that is selling one, feel free to contact me for my phone number.

I would think you would have no problem finding one of any of your top choices, they're pretty popular and come up for sale often. Unless of course, you have an unrealistic budget for today's market. :2cents:

Thanks for your reply. My budget is realistic but I am going by NADA and Haggerty Price Guides. They are both close in their pricing and give me somewhat of a guide. I know that those price guides are not always on the money so I also consider recent sold car prices. I must also mention that I would prefer purchasing a car that is in the US but I would also consider purchasing from Canada for the right car.

Forgot to mention....NO BLACK CARS. The red dust here in St George Utah is terrible on a black car.

Good candidate, but auto

Thanks tman. I saw that ad while back but this is what turned me off to that car: "All of the body panels are original except for the deck filler panel and the trunk floor." I'm really looking for all original sheet metal. The T/A is by far my favorite followed by the AAR. Something about the T/A hood that I like much better. Although I have a preference for the T/A, we were at MATS last Friday and there was a Plum Crazy AAR there (that I found out later) ended up taking best of show. I would have taken that car in a split second....what a beauty.

Still searching for my perfect car. I was in talks with a guy on the west coast of Canada, not too far from the Washington state line. He has sent me pics of his fantastic T/A that he has for sale. The T/A is beautiful. Unfortunately, he doesn't have a build sheet for it. So....the search continues. Here's a few pics of his beautiful machine.

You're not going to find a broadcast sheet with every car :2cents:

Good morning Alan. You are right about that but if I am going to spend good $$$$ on a collectable, I want a broadcast sheet to go with it. From seeing the pictures and talking to the owner on the phone....this was a #1 car for sure. This gentleman has a nice collection of cars including a Plum Crazy AAR. I was put in touch with the seller of this car through a guy I met at MATS (who also happened to be one of the judges at the show). MATS was a good show but not al all worth the $60 it cost for my wife and I to walk through the gate. Probably won't do it next year.

Understand fully....Documentation is key for the best of investments :worshippy:
I just hope you don't pass up on your dream car because of a single sheet of paper

The guy out West sounds like a guy I know....Dave West by any chance ?

Scott Smith is the person that we met at the MATS show. He lives around the Seattle area and seems extremely knowledgeable about these cars.....he should be, he was one of the judges there. I gave him our email and phone number and he has been extremely helpful in the search. The gent in Canada is Kevin. I'm sorry but I forgot his last name. You might be right about not letting paper get in the way of buying your dream car. Alan, what would you put the value of this T/A at? I'm just looking for your opinion. Here's a few more pics of the car. Thanks

Good colour, numbers matching 4spd with nice options....
Quick sale would be $85K-$95K USD.....May get into the six figures, but it would take awhile. :2cents:

Stick with Scott Smith, he's one of the best ! :worshippy

Oh...you know Scott??? He really is one hell of a nice guy. My wife and I were talking to him and wife (gf) for about a half hour at the show. He sure does go out of his way to help.
