Hasn't that car been for sale for almost 10 years? It is well known around here for not having the original motor, unless all the Mopar guys that talk to me in the Toronto Area are all lying.
Don't get me wrong Dave did an extremely nice job on the car but the auto on the column would make that car an extremely hard sale no matter how rare it is.
The car has been for sale for five years maybe, not ten. As previously discussed there's a limited market for "U" code E Bodies
The problem is that this car is restored to such a level with such a large amount of money invested, that nobody wants to pay what they were asking...The first listed price I believe was $150K and has steadily been reduced to a more realistic "U" code value. Now $65K USD will take it.
Dave and Steve spent $135K on the restoration with doing a lot of the work themselves. It's the closest thing to OE Gold around this area of Canada.
You could be right about the matching numbers, but I'm not certain. They've done a couple of cars.
Prior to this car, they restored a FJ5/V9Y column Auto 70 Challenger U code as well which sold easily for $90K. They are two of the best restorers is Southern ON and well certainly show that with their next car, a FM3 V code 4spd 70 Challenger.
