AARTA340...Grant, I forgot to mention that I gave the buyer the bottom seat frame that you gave me.  If there is a broken woven spring, it will become a great donor.

For sure it's a lesson learned.
Having sold cars over seas to people who buying "sight unseen" it's hard for the seller too....

No two people will ever have the same opinion of "mint" or "perfect" and there's a lot up for interpretation when it comes to our cars. What one person may think is "great condition" may actually be crap in another's opinion....

I'm glad that so far the cars I've sold or even the cars I've restored for people have exceeded their expectations  :2thumbs:

I'm in no way trying to defend Danny for his behaviour....ripped seats, switched carbs, etc......goes without saying :villagers:

Dealing with dishonest people has been my biggest problem in this hobby. Kudos to you for doing the right thing.

Alan, I totally agree with you 100%. It is hard for the seller too. When I sold my previous Monte Carlo SS (before I purchased the Challenger), I was on the phone with the buyer on the east coast for an hour here and an hour there during our many conversations. It was a $23k 2,000 mile original car....not a HUGE dollar car, but still a lot of money for the buyer and I did not want him to be disappointed in any way. I pointed out every little thing that I could and I was still on pins and needles until he got the car and called me to tell me thanks and that the car exceeded his expectations. The only problem with the transaction was that after the transport left St George, it continued west and then north and all over the place. I think it took almost a week and a half before he got it, but I had absolutely no control over that.
I have sold a couple Vettes, a 2,000 mile 73 Mustang Convert, an 85 Mustang GT, and a few other cars and believe me....I know what you are saying and always hold my breath. No one that I have ever sold a car to has been disappointed in any way.
I want to thank you too for all of the help and support you have given me. I have a side note to all of this but do not want to it post here. Look for a pm from me.

P.S. Here is a pic of the Monte Carlo SS that I sold earlier in the year.

Well...here is the final chapter to my long saga that started this last May. For all of you following this post from the beginning with my WTB ad, you all know that I have mentioned Scott Smith (Harms). He is a GREAT guy and has tried to help me with the numerous issues all of these months. He was the person that found a buyer for me for the R/T SE. I will be forever grateful to him for that and for restoring my faith that there are honest people in this hobby that genuinely want to help and do the right thing. Scott also helped me find a FANTASTIC 70 Challenger R/T that has absolutely NO issues what-so-ever, owned by Dave West. Scott had known Dave from work he had done for him over the years and Scott was also one of the judges that did a rigorous OE inspection on the car at MATS a few years back. Scott personally vouched for this car and gave a huge thumbs up. I'm sure that some of you have seen this car and may even know Dave West. Dave knew what I had been through (with hearing the story of my last purchase) and personally delivered my new Challenger to my door because he knew that I was still gun-shy. He did so with only my word that I would purchase it on my approval upon final inspection. He's also a great person that is all for the hobby. Kudos to Scott Smith and Dave West. So here it is....what do you guys think?

Pretty car, but more importantly, glad you're happy and it all turned out well.

:woo: Wow...I had no idea that you were going to buy THAT car.... I know Dave West and also deal with Scott a bunch of times. You're definitely in with a good crowd with those guys.  :worshippy

I have to think that your new car is a huge step-up ($$$$$) from the last car you just sold though ?  :dunno: :2thumbs:

Hi Alan. Yes....remember me sending you pm's throughout this ordeal. I have coyly asked you about the cream R/T to get some of your thoughts. I really didn't want to let the cat out of the bag. I'm sure that you understand. We're talking a huge step up in the caliber of the cars. There is a HUGE difference in the two cars....and I'm not talking about the problems that the R/T SE had. Even though the R/T SE was somewhat rare, this R/T is a 1 of 2 car. There is only one other documented U code Shaker car out there....and that one has lost it's original drivetrain. Mine is an all numbers matching car. The color combo on my R/T is a 1 of 1. Galen personally inspected this car and his comments are overwhelming on his inspection report. While the R/T SE was a great looking "sporty" car....my wife says this is "elegant" looking. She likes this one much better and I have to agree with her. Alan....you can't take it ($$$$) with you. lol. You're correct about being in with a good crowd.....that makes all the difference buddy.

Wow Craig, way to go!! That is a total surprise for sure.   I really like the car as I had seen pictures of it before. I know the yellow car was nice, but this one is over the top. The only thing missing in your 3 car garage is a RT/SE survivor, wink-wink.  :bananasmi  Not sure when I will be down your way again, but will put a trip to St George at the top of my list of things to do.

Yes, I can vouch for Scott as well. I met him for the first time about three years ago and low and behold, he lives on the same street, just 3 miles away. He knows his stuff and does not BS his info, it is all backed up by fact.

Thanks a lot ec_co. I had some dark days there for sure in the beginning of this mess, but I have made some great honest friends because of it.
