So WIW?
1974 Dodge Dart Sport 36o MOPAR Plymouth Duster - $9000 (uptown new westminster)

The asking price of $9,000 Can. comes out to $7,200 US with the exchange rate.
$8,000 Canadian would be about $6,400 US
$6400 around here gets you a pretty rough /6 A body auto or a roller...
Either there isn't much interest or the owner won't budge on the price or both.  :dunno:
Doesn't seem like a bad price.

http://vancouver.craigslist.ca/van/cto/4904871035.html
Dart Sport 360 CID 4 barrel V8 FACTORY options include manual sunroof with half vinyl top (roof operates and does not leak) manual 4 speed transmission with pistol grip hurst shifter, tinted glass, cold air hood and scoop, dual chrome mirrors, map lights, rear speaker, rear defroster, 3 spd. wipers, hood mounted turn signals, wheel lip moldings, drip rail moldings, 240 KMH speedo, 26 inch radiator, Avocado gold Poly exterior paint with transverse stripes, black interior with buckets and full door panels. Trunk spoiler, interior hood release and hood pins have been added at one time.

Front seats need new covers, paint is an old repaint to factory color...not perfect, but this is a solid car with little rust. runs well and needs some tlc. Good winter project for next spring. Engine is not original.. transmission is. Has fender tag. 15+7 cops wheels with 60 series tires
360 V8 has headers and dual exhaust, upgraded cam and high rise intake.

Rallye suspension with front sway bar and power disk brakes. SureGrip differential

My son turns 16 tomorrow and I've been looking for a project car for him and I to work on together.
He would love an E body, who wouldn't? But he likes A bodies too. This one has been on CL for 29 days and is in Vancouver BC so there would be customs and bringing a Canadian car down to the US.
I have no idea what that takes... Maybe someone here has done that and can comment on what that entails.

I like the 240KPH speedo!
I can see the vinyl top will need to come off and the roof rust repaired. We would put the canopy vinyl roof back on.
Not numbers and not really concerned about that. Love the snorkel, blackout hood, incorrect wing but Dylan likes it!
What do you guys think?

As equiped NADA Book lists it as Low $4,980    Med $12,120    High $22,080

My  :2cents:  That is a pretty fair price for that car, if it was a couple years younger (72 model) that would be a great price. the 74/75 don't bring in as much $$.

Pretty sporty little "A" body for the money imho....   It looks decent and the 340/360's are peppy cars - especially with a 4 speed.....    :2cents:

Yup, pretty much what I thought so I emailed him my phone number last night. Have not heard back yet.
I'll post more when/if he gets back to me.

Thanks for weighing in everyone!

This car is about an hour from me. I have seen it for sale numerous times over the past number of months. It looks like a good deal but I have never contacted him due to waiting for an E-body. I imported mine from the US to Canada this week and it was really easy but you have to do your homework and follow the requirements. I'm not sure what is required going from Canada to the US. I would go look at this car for you if you need me to. Good luck with it.

Hey, that's nice! I wouldn't mind having that for myself!

Passed on both. They never seem to be as nice as the present in pictures.
The Dart had some rust and leaks but the real problem was the paint. It has lots of bubbles that you can move across a panel by pushing it with your finger. Some were several inches long. Kind of like pushing the bubbles out of a screen protector on your phone  :scared:

The Barracuda was very solid and they offered to take $10K US for it but the "Race" 383 was way more than I would want to put my son behind the wheel of. Sounded very nice with the long tube headers and 3" custom exhaust. All mandrel bends. Doors closed solid. Sump added to the stock fuel tank and electric pump. MSD 6A...Not a bad deal just not the right deal. I would have preferred a stock small block or even /6. Thought about the possibility of an engine swap but decided to just keep looking.

They are out there.
