Woohoo I got sound!!!
« on: March 26, 2015 - 07:28:38 AM »
Title says it all lol. I have owned this particular car for 5 years, and I installed a stereo a week ago lol. Put in a custom autosound USA-630, Kenwood dual speaker setup that was initially meant for a 68-69 b-body instead of my 74, but some cutting on the mounting plate and I got it to fit (if I had to do it all over again I would probably make a new mounting plate for it instead of altering the old one), and I have (2) undercover II speaker boxes underneath the seats. Took 2 days to get it all figured and setup properly (I wanted it to look like it was stock, with modern sound). Sound has been great so far, not as high quality as some of the very expensive systems in high class modern cars, but it certainly performs as well as most modern day cars, and probably better than most.

Just wanted to share the excitement! And tell you guys not to give up, for those of you having problems keep in mind it took me about 14 hours to do all this and get it perfect. And perfection craves time lol.

I'll see if I can't get a sound clip tomorrow. Heads up though, I don't "rock" too much lol. I am a country kinda guy lol. But my favorite artist at the moment has some stuff with electric guitars and such, I will get a clip of that.

Don't be ashamed of being a country fan.  I love country, just went to the Garth Brooks concert and he was awesome!

Well I have a sound clip. The unfortunate part is I don't think you guys will ever be able to hear it lol. I tried putting it straight onto this website and that didn't work (wrong file type), maybe because it was taken from my phone. I tried putting it onto youtube and that didn't work because they took all the sound out because the song was copyrighted (Thanks youtube  :villagers: ). Then I tried downloading it onto photobucket only to find out the file was too large. So I trimmed the video a bit making it smaller, now it still won't upload to photobucket for some reason. The only difference is now it at least pretends to try and upload...

Sorry folks but it doesn't look like you will get to hear this clip.
