New owner, 72 Cuda
« on: March 28, 2015 - 11:28:42 AM »
Hi all.  New owner of a 72 340 Cuda here from PA.  Owned the car since October 2014 but am starting to get ready to start working on it now that the weather is finally breaking.  Car is in pretty solid shape, a rust spot here or there, but is 100% driveable right now but is definitely in need of some basic maintenance work.  This car was purchased for my wife, and in turn I sold my previous project.  I'm coming from a completely different market, 4 cylinder forced induction, so this is definitely a new adventure for me but I'm excited to get into something new!  So far I've got new Hotchkis shocks, door hinges, air cleaner, door/trunk seals, and a stereo waiting to be installed.  My wife is going to be driving this car so I'm planning to upgrade the 4 wheel drum brakes to 4 wheel power disc, any suggestions on kits?  I'm not sold on the $2K+ price of the wilwood kits but I want something quality.  Past that, plan to do U-joints, little clunk when going into gear, full tune up, been looking into a TTI exhaust system, and then we'll see what happens!  I'm sure there's rules about posting links to different companies selling parts, so are there any solid vendors here that I should be shopping with?

Welcome from CO!  Did you come in from a SRT4 I see in the background?

  Welcome from Central Fl. Car looks sweet. IMHO a front disc conversion ( leave the rear drum) should be a safe less expensive upgrade.  :2cents:

Correct.  425whp with all the fixin's!  I sold it shortly after we got the Cuda.  Owned it since brand new, 10 years, but decided I was ready to move on to a more....adult....scene we'll call it.  Hated to let it go but as far as I'm concerned I upgraded big time!

We attend Chrysler's at Carlisle every year, this year will be no different except for the car we arrive in!

I'm about 10 minutes south of Harrisburg right now, however we're getting ready to put our townhouse on the market and move into a single family home, with a garage.  Expecting our first child in May and I need a home for the car!

I've considered this option as well...but I figure if I'm going to do it I might as well go all out.  The car will be owned for life, so if I have to wait a little longer to get what I want I have no problem with that!
